Position Overview:
As the Logistics Warehouse Supervisor for the Battery Production and Warehousing division, you will oversee daily operations within the warehouse to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of automotive battery products. This role includes managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, with a focus on optimizing logistics processes and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced, evolving sector.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, procurement, and quality control to ensure materials are properly handled, stored, and tracked according to stringent automotive standards. The role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to troubleshoot operational issues in real-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the battery warehouse, including inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, and material handling.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring high performance, adherence to safety protocols, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all warehousing activities comply with industry regulations, automotive standards, and internal safety policies.
  • Coordinate the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of automotive battery products, ensuring timely delivery to production or customer facilities.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to evaluate warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with production and procurement teams to ensure materials are available as needed, reducing downtime and optimizing production schedules.
  • Oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels, stock rotation, and shipment documentation.
  • Ensure that hazardous materials (if applicable) are stored, handled, and transported in accordance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to address any product or process issues, ensuring defective materials are managed according to company policies.
  • Prepare and present reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational challenges to senior management.
  • Support the implementation of lean processes, 5S, or other continuous improvement initiatives to increase warehouse efficiency.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers, suppliers, and transportation teams to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in warehouse supervision, preferably within the automotive or battery production sectors.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, material handling, and warehouse management systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, safety procedures, and quality control in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling regulations (if applicable to battery storage).
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing production schedules or operational demands.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive or battery manufacturing industry.
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related certification.
  • Forklift certification or other material handling equipment experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant logistics software.

Work Environment: This position operates in a warehouse and manufacturing setting with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions. The supervisor is required to adhere to all safety standards and may need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
